Green Development Database

Green Development Database

Ceres Property has a large database of landowners, both those who work with us directly and those who are known to our partners at Ceres Rural. With this combined database, we believe we are uniquely positioned and market leaders in facilitating the use of land by councils and developers for their environmental and biodiversity requirements.

For more information on the background and pending impact of the Environmental Act, please read our blog on biodiversity net gain by clicking the link below.

How it works

Ceres Property and their partners at Ceres Rural are one of the market leaders in having a database of landowners and developers who are interested in, or require, biodiversity units.

The database aims to be a “one stop shop” for landowners to put their land forward to developers and councils. It also allows developers to try and find landowners. Ceres Property and Ceres Rural provide a service to appraise, broker and monitor any biodiversity units as shown on the flow diagrams below.

The database currently consists of approx 185,000 hectares and although this may seem like a lot, there is plenty of demand for land in particular locations, for example local planning authorities with a large housing supply.
